DIY Natural Deodorant Recipe

I’ve only recently become interested in natural deodorant because quite frankly I didn’t think it would work! A neighbour convinced me to try a product she had been using, so I started experimenting and came up with a formula of my own. It’s super easy to make,  and you just may have most of the ingredients in your home already. I am happy to share the recipe and instructions with you. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 TBSP coconut oil

2 1/2 TBSP shea butter

2 1/2 TBSP beeswax

1/4 cup arrowroot starch/flour

1 1/2 TBSP baking soda

6-10 drops of your favourite essential oils

Place coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter in a glass bowl or jar and place the bowl/jar inside a medium saucepan. Add water to the saucepan (enough to srround bowl/jar but not to the top) and bring to a boil. As water is heating up, ensure to stir regularly until ingredients melt. Once melted, remove from heat and add in arrowroot starch and baking soda. Allow to cool for a few minutes then add your essential oils and mix well.

Place in a clean 3 ounce jar (or clean, empty deoderant tubes) and allow to cool at room temperature or in the fridge (will harden faster in the fridge) until it reaches a solid state.

If you don’t feel like making it yourself or don’t want to go and buy a bunch of ingredients, just let me know! I will have this product available for sale in the coming weeks and would be happy to make some especially for you!
